We often work with clients that are work in a very specific, focused or niche area of their industry and as a result, we will sometimes need to fill a role that is highly specialized and sometimes difficult to categorize, or given the very specific technical and industry requirements for the role, these positions can be very difficult to find, especially in a smaller and somewhat finite market such as Manitoba. These types of roles often require an aggressive and focused head-hunting approach to sourcing candidates, and this is an area where we thrive and thoroughly enjoy at TechnologySmart.
TechnologySmart strives to find the best and most appropriate candidate for each role that we work on, and we actively target, and recruit candidates based on very specific skills and experience for each of these roles. As a result, where many of our competitors are, for the most part, passive or “inventory-based” recruiters, we still believe in “Head Hunting” talent and approaching those individuals that are not actively responding to ads or potentially looking for a new role. We may screen well over one hundred candidates for some very specialized roles in order to develop a very short list of ideal candidates that both fit the requirements and are genuinely interested in pursuing the position with our client.
With this methodology, we are often more successful in recruiting and placing specialized or “hard to find” positions and through our process we ensure that the individual is making the move for the right reasons and with the best interests of both the client and candidate in mind.
Given our specialized and analytical approach to head-hunting, we enjoy working on specialized, technical, and difficult to find roles, often requiring specific designations, certifications, licensing and industry experience. While we don’t claim to be experts in every industry or area of expertise, we do pride ourselves in our ability to take the time to deeply research an industry, technology and company to adequately understand the requirements of the position and in turn structure a search and interview process that asks the right questions and accurately identifies the most appropriate candidates.
As partners we’ve been recruiting for many years, but as we often tell candidates and clients, we did have “real jobs” once. We have worked in a variety of industries throughout our careers including IT, Finance & Banking, and early on, some of us have worked in the manufacturing and bio-medical fields and even studied pharmacology in school!
